During French school holidays (winter, Easter, summer, All Saints' Day, Christmas) and Japanese (end of March, Golden Week, summer, New Year), the French-Japanese School International organizes its renowned holiday schools during which your children aged 3 to 12 years will be able to enjoy their holidays in EIFJ's  beautiful, safe and conveniently located educational environment in Tokyo Kita-ku, under the supervision of our school certified teachers (many also teach during school holidays), French language experts, English ESL teachers, Japanese certified teachers, assistants and teachers in training.

For children below 3 years old, please refer to the short-term childcare program in the nursery.

CURRICULUM

The program will be determined shortly before the opening of the holiday school, activities are particularly interesting: strengthening of skills (languages, sciences, general knowledge), legendary stories, park discovery walks, treasure hunts, introduction to musical instruments, choirs, physical and sports activities, dance, cooking, gardening, visits and support for elderly people in the neighborhood, major art projects etc.

It is also a unique opportunity to make new acquaintances outside the family and school circle, to discuss and develop social skills and autonomy, living together and the notion of sharing. The holiday school, like the short-term childcare program available 365 days a year, is also an excellent springboard to gradually accustom your child to preschool, kindergarten or elementary schooling at EIFJ. Lastly, the holiday school is an opportunity to discover extracurricular activities which are often also available also during school holidays (music, sports and science especially).

• The class begins at 8:30 a.m. with a circle time.
• Each day: two workshops to strengthen fundamental knowledge, learning and discoveries; two recreations including a swimming pool recreation in summer and in the Fall, initiations, pactical works that students can bring back home, quiet time.
• Each week, three trips to the nearby parks, including those with pools in summer.
• Each holiday school: whenever possible, a school bus trip (to the zoo, to the museum, to a park or historic site, to the aquarium, etc.), a civic day, a traditional festival (French, Japanese and/or international). Birthdays are celebrated individually, just like all year round.

Photos and sometimes videos of your child's workshops and school trips are uploaded every day via the Seesaw application, which also allows you to communicate at any time with teachers and administration. A weekly newsletter explaining in detail the content of everyday’s activity is posted online for families.

Age groups are made, and activities adapted to everyone. In addition, it is possible to enroll in different classes based on your language choice (blingual or trilingual).

CALENDAR

The next holiday schools will be held during the following periods, irrespective of the number of children, from 8:30 to 17:00 (extensions are possible before 8:30 am and until 8 pm), and for a minimum of two days enrollment:

• Fall holidays: from 23 October 2023 to 3 November 2023
• Year End holidays: from 11 December 2023 to 8 January 2024
• Winter holidays: from 26 February 2024 to 6 March 2024
• Japanese Spring holidays (for non EIFJ students) from 25 March to 29 March 2024
• Spring holidays and Golden Week: from 29 April 2024 to 10 May 2024
• Summer holidays: from 1 July 2024 to 30 August 2024

FEES

Holiday Schools of EIFJ Tokyo are open to everyone, enrolled in EIFJ or other schools. From September 2021, the fees for EIFJ students is ¥3,850 per day (5,500 yen per day for enrollees in other schools). All holiday school periods require a prior reservation and upfront payment following the registration of students. In the event of your child's absence for any reason whatsoever, no day will be refunded and no additional day or services may be added either. Younger students who do not belong to preschool-kindergarten yet can participate in the holiday school as "short-term childcare" enrollees (hourly fees).,

OTHER SERVICES (ADDITIONAL FEES)

• The 7 am and 5 pm school bus, which operates year round, picks up and drops off students.
• The EIFJ cafeteria operates all year round.
• The After-School Activities
• Extensions in the morning (from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.) and in the evening (from 5 to 8 p.m.) are possible upon request.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Owing to the accredited status of the school, the new Japanese Law of October 2019 allows employed (minimum 12 hours per week of work, or justifying an essential need for childcare) parents of children aged 3 to 6 years old who are enrolled in the French-Japanese International School's programs (except some after-school activities) to receive up to 37,000 yen subsidies per month : please search for "無償化" on your Tokyo ward office website, apply, and contact us for more information.
