Vacant position: art teacher
EIFJ Tokyo Art School

EIFJ Art Teacher is a New Yorker and a BFA graduate of the New York School of Visual Arts. While in Japan, he has worked for the Japanese government as an ALT for all grade levels, from kindergarten to high school and adults, and an art instructor. Exposed to art and nature from the age of three, living across from the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Zoo, art, nature, and science have been constant parts of his journey. This has led him to hold art exhibitions and conduct robotic design research at Waseda Takanishi Lab, Tokyo Daigaku, and Shibaura Tech.
He believes that creative exploration is vital for expanding young minds and supporting academic growth. The arts foster patience, observation, experimentation, and discovery, nurturing human ingenuity and abstract thinking. In his English teaching, he applies similar principles, encouraging students to approach language through exploration, creativity, and meaningful real-world contexts.
The scope of knowledge spans multiple mediums and tools of the arts, which he enjoys teaching to children. Some examples include drawing and sculpting characters and creatures from observation and imagination using both traditional 2D techniques (pencil, ink, paint, clay) and 2D digital design tools (vector apps, Photoshop, image editors). His work and teaching have also included editorial and urban photography exhibitions, as well as product design and spatial design using CAD, 3D printing, and laser etching technology applications and hardware for design. In addition, he brings strong experience in developing cross-curricular projects that integrate English with the arts, sciences, and technology, preparing students for 21st-century communication and problem-solving.
Some of his side activities include zoology, archery, 3D modeling apps and printing, travel, and urban day cycling.
